Hello, I am Melody Kennedy. My sincere condolences go out to you at this time. It would be an honour to plan and officiate a meaningful funeral service for your loved one.
I truly believe that every life is unique and sacred. At Tapestry of Life Funeral Celebrations in Flamborough, Ontario, this is the foundation that I build upon when working with families who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Sometimes, I meet with terminally ill individuals who are in hospice care and help them plan their own funerals, with the assistance of their families.
I have completed Hospice Palliative Care Ontario’s volunteer training curriculum, and I am sensitive to the complex needs of families with a loved one who is receiving end-of-life-care.
For a variety of reasons, many individuals today do not have an affiliation with a church or religious tradition.
Religious or spiritual elements can be included in the funeral service, as per the family’s wishes. I help with choosing music, scriptures, and poetry and ensure the ceremony is customized to their preferences and tastes.
I offer a nonjudgmental, inclusive perspective where each person is made comfortable. The service can be held in a funeral home or a location of their choice, such as a backyard, community centre, gravesite, columbarium niche, or scattering garden.
